What Session 3 Is About
Here’s the brutal truth almost nobody tells you: the most dangerous moment for a hedge program isn’t the crash — it’s the beginning of the crash.
There’s a zone on the way down — we call it the Valley of Death — where your short legs are already hurting but your long legs haven’t gone convex yet. The structure is temporarily underwater. Vol is rising, the screen is red, and every instinct tells you to “do something.” This is exactly where the average retail trader panics, rolls the hedge, closes the longs too early, or rips the whole thing off — locking in a loss days before the structure would have paid off massively.
The math was never the problem. The psychology in the valley is the problem.
