Special guest: Liz Dierking
Portfolio 2 closed an AMD jade lizard for a winner on August 25. Nine days later Portfolio 1 closed a GLD zebra for $590. Both of those structures have proper names because somebody sat down years ago and designed them, and on Thursday one of the two people who did that is joining us.
Liz Dierking and her partner Jenny Andrews created the jade lizard, the big lizard, the spiked lizard and the zebra, among others. She’s a former Chicago floor trader. She hosted a live trading talk show on tastytrade for fifteen years, and she spent a lot of that time pushing “trade small, trade often” so retail investors could actually use this stuff.
We’re not going to dress this up as something it isn’t. We don’t run their playbook as a system. We traded those two structures, on those two dates, and we’ve been carrying questions about how both are meant to be managed that we’ve never had a chance to put to one of the people who built them. Thursday we get to ask.
This is a members-only live session with Tony Battista and Tony Rihan.

Who’s joining us
Here’s how Liz and Jenny describe what they’re building, in their own words:
LEVEL UP WITH LIZ & JNY Liz Dierking & Jenny Andrews are building a community where passionate options traders and everyday retail investors come together - laughing, learning, and leveling up side by side. Options trading is not a zero sum game, it’s people helping people, trader to trader, friends to friends. Because the best edge isn’t just strategy - it’s the community you trade alongside.
It launches this fall. Everything past that we’ll let her tell you herself, because what we know about her is what she has published, and we’d rather ask than assume.
Why this one is worth an hour
The jade lizard and the zebra aren’t exotic. They’re two of the most useful shapes we own, and both came out of the same partnership.
The AMD jade lizard came off on August 25 for a winner, about a day after it went on. The GLD zebra came off on September 3 for $590 after three days. Both write-ups are already in your inbox, so we won’t re-run the arithmetic on the call.
What we want is the reasoning behind the shapes. Why the jade lizard is built the way it is, and what she thinks people get wrong about it. Where the zebra belongs, and how she handles one that goes against her early, which is the spot Rihan was in last week and talked about on the air. And what “trade small, trade often” means once your account isn’t small any more, because that’s the question we get most.
Whatever else comes up, comes up. It’s a conversation, not a lecture, and the best hours we’ve had on this show went somewhere neither of us planned.
PPI prints Thursday morning and CPI lands Friday, so it’s a decent week to be in the room.
Bring something to ask
Type your question in the chat and we’ll get to it live. If you have a jade lizard or a zebra on right now, better still, bring the strikes and we’ll pull it up.
See you Thursday.
