TonyB Commentary

Ten trades this week. Three call diagonals — all opened and closed for profit within days. One closed for a smaller profit overnight (+$55). One closed for a medium profit after two days (+$50). The last one closed for a nice profit after four days (+$200). Total harvested: about $305 across the three scalps.

A reminder on call diagonals: they typically use less buying power than the wide put spreads we sell. In our three examples this week, the diagonals tied up only $800–$1,700 each in BP. The tradeoff is that they require more active management — they move faster than put spreads, so you have to stay on top of them.

We captured $50 to $200 in profits on each of the three diagonals, then closed them to lock the gains and reduce long delta. In their place, we opened two new 1×2 long-delta put ratio spreads — each collecting about $450 in credit with an estimated 80–90% probability of success. These structures lean bullish, benefit from time decay, and define risk between the strikes — a more forgiving way to express upside conviction than another diagonal at these levels.

As we find ourselves at all-time highs, we also find ourselves underinvested. Not the best scenario, but the disciplined one in a market this stretched. We’ll continue to look for the best strategy the market presents us in the coming week.

Powder is dry. Ready to fire away!

Have a great weekend — and don’t forget to take a look at the GYP Masterclass. You all have access. Modules 1 through 6 are now live; Module 7 unlocks next Friday.
