TonyB Commentary
“Quick Scalp — Take the Profit, Recycle the Capital”
Quick scalp here. This was the slowest-moving and longest-dated diagonal from yesterday’s batch, and we’re taking the opportunity to lock in profits early.
This is a great example of how these call diagonal spreads can move quickly, even when they are not the most responsive structures in the group. Despite being the least efficient entry and the slowest mover, it still delivered roughly a half-dollar profit in a very short period of time.
We chose to take off the diagonal with the weakest entry point, which also happened to be the longest-dated and least reactive position. This helps us clean up the book, free up capital, and improve overall portfolio efficiency.
Going forward, we will look to reload on any market pullback, ideally at better levels — continuing to build exposure in a more favorable risk/reward setup.
